Which is the better aquarium Brooklyn or Atlantis Long Island?

Brooklyn is still recovering from Sandy. Atlantis is the best bet. Especially to see the reef tank.

i went to atlantis for the first time this past summer and have been to coney island a bunch of times over the past 15 years. Atlantis is an amazing place.

Yea I agree with Pratt, The brooklyn aquarium sucks, it always did. Especially compared to a place like atlantis.

Brooklyns aquarium was worse before the storm LOL but it brings back many child hood memories so there is a part in my heart for it. I was there at least 10 times a year as a kid. But atlantis is in a different stratosphere then the Brooklyn aquarium

Really? Have you been to both of them? Or are you looking for recommendations to go to one or the other? I can buy the later for starting a poll, otherwise quite honestly, it's a waste of bandwidth.

Bklyn was and possibly still will be worse but it was a sweet childhood memory. Spent a lot of summers there

YEah, that's not a fair comparison. Long Island Aquarium is in a different league, think Georgia Aquarium, Shedd in Chicago or Monterey Bay. Brooklyn Aquarium can compete with maybe National Aquarium in Washington DC. I have to say Brooklyn's Caribbean Reef Tank was a nice addition though but still not even close to what LIA offers.

I like The Long Island aquarium because of the touch tank and how much more interactive it is. It's a shame they won't let me and my girl get interactive in the shark cage:bunnies:

Somebody should send US traveler this thread. NY aquarium is rated #22 Atlantis didn't make the list.

I love going to the LI Aquarium but at least Brooklyn is trying to up its game... delayed due to sandy.
