Heater Recomendation

Can anybody recommend a heater for my 120g?

ebojager 200w. If it's a cold room or basement get the 300w

+1 on the jager but i would go with 2 smaller heaters so if one fails you still have some heat.

+1 on the Jager or Finnex titanium. I would run 2-150 watt in case 1 fails.

as a good buddy of mine has stated leave metal out of your tank go with the eheim

It's is working right now. I want to take the precaution and replace the heater so nothing bad happens. Thought it was a wise step.

Usually heaters don't crap out in a year.I have a 150w ebo jager going on 10 years that works perfect. If you want redundancy go with 2 smaller heaters. The risk is not really with a heater failing since corals can tolerate lower temps, the risk is when they stick in the on position and boil your tank, or when glass heater become exposed they can crack.

I understand this, I guess I will just keep my current heater than. Just didn't wait it to ever get stuck on the on position. The price of a heater isn't going to break me, so figured it was a good idea. Maybe I'll wait it out a little longer.

Tommy have a controller run your heater. Much safer.

Also, 2 lower wattages is less risk overheating the water if one gets stuck, aint it?

You can use something like a reef keeper lite for $100 or maybe in an older ranco controller. You can find these things used for $50 or $75. I actually like the reefkeeper lite. I know the expenses of the hobby can be a burden. Good luck either way

Whats wrong with the titanium ones? I'm always scared of the glass ones cracking and leaching all kinds of crap...i broke my last glass one (out of the tank) by accident so i know its not that hard to do..

The ebo jager are made of very thick glass, I don't think I've every heard of anyone breaking one, outside of maybe cracking it, but even then you would really need to go out of your way to do that.
