Pump pre filters

Do you guys use the filter on your skimmer pumps?I have a hang on was thinking about it

if you mean the sponges, they always got clogged up with junk and fouled the water. if you mean the surface skimmer/overfloiw boxes for aquac units they work just kind of big and fiddly.

Its there to protect things such as sand from getting into the motor.

Yeah like he said,they clog up.
