Environmentalist Rene Umberger, 53, was filming another diver taking fish in the area. The man then swam over and pulled the breathing device out of her mouth. She was able to surface safely.

She wants him charged with attempted murder?!?!?!
Putting a breathing device back in is literally day one stuff!
Then she claimed that an inexperienced diver would panic and shoot to the surface if that had happened.....that is day 1 training for PADI certification!

I have been diving for 30 yrs. Have many certifications including rescue and most of my dives are here in wreck valley. (Ny- NJ) I have seen many divers panic from situations your are trained to deal with.
My problem with someone ripping out a gas (air) supply is that he did not know this persons level of experience or health conditions. So for that I would like to see him prosecuted.
