Hey Everyone,

Just thinking what kinds of small schooling fish are out there? No cardinals please

I really like the common blue/green chromes as my cousin has 4 nice big ones that been living together for probably 3 years now. I really like them but heard that often they will kill each other till there is only one..

Anybody with diff experiences? Or any damsels that school nicely or other species of chromes. Just want to get something small for some action to go with some of the larger fish in the 150 gallon that current stock stands at one juvi blue face, yellow tang, maroon clown, long nose hawk, green bird wrasse and niger trigger. All these fish are between the 2-4 inch size...except for the blue face which is 4.5 possibly 5 inch.

Just want to get some small fish to finish off the stock list...

One of my favorite schooling fish is the golden trevally. You can also get cheap look down fish this time of year, captive breed ones are becoming abundant. There are also many small species of snappers that develop nice active schools.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I actually played with the idea of getting an angler somewhat like the wart skin or any angler that stays under 3-4 inches. Mainly because I find them cool, as well as like mentioned, i heard they will school if a predator is in the tank. However what if I continua sly feed the angler/frogfish other foods to the point where he doesn't go for the chromes or at least if the chromes might be too big...idk the ones my cousin has are pretty big.

I'll look into the blue reef, how did they both school well or are they very aggressive towards each other?

Anthias are very cool, I personally only owned dispar anthers if I recall they did very well, but the last anthers being a GIANT Square back anthias just wouldn't except dead food as well as slowly began to even ignore live food. So I'm unsure about anthers since my last experience with one.
