My tank finished cycling all my levels are great,I haven't added any live rock,I have all new rock I tank that was put in after I filled my tank. Did 20%water changes every week. Added cleaner shrimp, snails, blue legged hermit crabs after the tank cycled and just added 2 clown fish on Saturday and 1 of them Died this morning.does anyone have an idea why. :thanks:

Well tough to trouble shoot with the information available , sometimes the animals simply don't make it and has nothing to do with the aquarium they are places in.

How did you acclimate them, similar temp, salinity, ph as where you got them from? Sometines that's unnecessary stress that causes harm and if fish had something workkng already it causes additional problems

What test kit did you used? Was this a new test kit purchase?
Where did you buy the clownfish? Were the pair alone or with other clowns? Did you notice how the other clowns looked in the tank, any dead? Are the pair about the same size? Did you observed the clowns for any white spots? Any pictures?

I used an Api test kit I bought the clown fish at tropical aquarium in ocean nj and they were in the tank with other clowns that looked fine and the one that died was the bigger of the 2 the one is still alive and no the did not have any white spots on them

Does not always mean it was the params of your tank.. As people have stated sometimes they just do not adjust and wind up dieing. Could have been because he was stressed and the other clown was picking on him, and etc. Clownfish are tricky if they aren't paired there will be a lot of fighting and nudging to see whos more dominant. I would not overthink it to much.. If other fish start to die off then you know something is up
