catch a filefish

Any ideas on how to trap a file fish, it does not take any offered food just picks at the rocks .. I was burnt out wondering why my millie don't look right and closed up and what do ya know this damn file fish which didn't touch aptasia was picking that millie. I cant really swing a net without breaking coral cant and wont move the rock because some corals encrusted.. I really don't wanna be cruel and put a needle on a stick and spear him but he can not be in this tank picking at coral. he is smart too I sat there with a net in a area of the tank where it fits and he knows gave up after a hour. Any Ideas will help.

Haha just use your hand they are so slow. When I got rid of mine I scooped him up in 5 min

Ill try that, it sucks it was a cool fish I liked how it hovered around and change color in the rocks. Thanks

He was doing it to camouflage himself, so you wouldn't see him eating your corals.

What type did you get?

Matted filefish supposed to eat aptasia, if I can catch him and get him in the fuge maybe try to get him to eat other than picking at rocks and coral .. toss a cheap frag and see if he still has the habbit.
