Hey everyone! So I was thinking about starting a tank for the purpose of growing Amphipods and Copepods that is external from my system. Has anyone tried this before? I was thinking I would just use a basic 10 gallon tank and set it up like a refugium. I would put some chaeto and other macro algae in it for them to live and hide. Some questions I have are would this work? What kind of substrate should I use? Where would you recommend I buy my starting cultures?

Some of the research that I have done has led me to ipsf.com and they sell a starter pack. Anyone hear of them? order from them? Thanks for the help.

I would use crushed coral and coral rubble, substrates with a lot of holes or space between each particle.

Yes I have order from IPSF fine. I have also ordered from inland aquatics and Sach aquaculture. You may also be able to get a culture from some one local,

Good luck.
