Hammer head became disconnected off base

My hammer heads of the branch , had 6 heads and two floated off. Maybe it wiggled free cause of the flow in my tank . But it came off the branch . Will it live and or attach onto something ?

if your talking about a hammer coral detaching from its skeleton, than the part that detached will die and you will be left with a skeleton branch. If i understand u correctly.

Sounds like 'polyp bailout' as a result of being stressed. If you're looking at just skeleton, then no it will not grow back. You also can't stick the detached polyps to something.
