It depends on if your phosphate were high and than you used GFO. Which might drop your phosphate very fast. So a quick change can. It's good to check your levels. So if your phosphate going up its time to change GFO so it's not a big swing. And if it's your first time possible using to much. Some brands are better removing phosphate in first 24 hours. So yes it can effect your SPS. Dropping it and possible bringing your levels to zero can bleach and effect some SPS more than others.

Yes, this is what you see in the article... GFO drops alkalinity especially if you have a high alkalinity level to start with.

The important thing is to always start slow with GFO (or any products that has an influence on water chemistry for that matter)
