I am with you guys. IME results vary from 0.0-.35. A big complaint of mine was the time from zeroing out the sample and adding the reagent gently stirring letting it sit for 2 min and then putting it back in the meter. You basically have 60 seconds to get the reagent added completely make sure there are no bubbles and cleaning the glass before putting it back in. Not easy or even feasible without preparing everything before hand. You have to have everything in place ready to go. If not the meter shuts off and you have to start over.

Today i used the meter and measured .17 I took it to someone with a better meter something close to this.

He ran a test and it came up .16

While we only ran one test. We both conducted them independently with completely different equipment. These meters are nowhere near how accurate or reliable as we want them to be. That being said, as i have been told multiple tests can help to determine a more accurate reading.

^You ran a test with the result of a 0.17 and a "better" test kit returned a 0.16. I'd be pretty satisfied.

Mine have always been in the vicinity of each reading. .02 when Rowaphos is replaced after 24 hours then 0.08 when I am reaching the limit and start seeing algae occur more often.

I normally replace 7 scoops every 2-3 weeks.

Looking at the ultra sensitive one several reviews shows it's normally double the reading so who knows. I get a consistent reading and not out of whack so I am pretty happy with my experience.

I always have everything ready to go before placing it in the meter.

Only thing I hate is once the reading is done, it should have you press the button to clear instead of giving you 10 seconds before it clears out the result. Pretty stupid.

I've been happy with mine. Before I start the test, because of that 3 min time limit, I have everything set up and ready to go:

Reagent packet opened, creased and reagent powder collected to one corner of the packet
Microfiber towel to wipe fingerprints off of the glass
A stopwatch so I'll know how much time I have before I get rid of micro bubbles and wipe down the glass.

At times I'll take 2 readings and it's usually a difference of .01 to .02.
I'm fine with that.

I have a bunch of the hanna's been happy with them. any test kit for our hobby is less then perfect but they can tell us when things are way off. bo need for them to be perfect just close enough to know things are ok. also how you use the kit can have an effect on the results. for example if you use tissue or paper towels to clean the glass tubes you will in effect alter the readings as tissue or paper towels will cause micro scratches on the glass which will in turn scatter the light used to dead the solution in the glass.

This is pretty much how i do the test well minus the stop watch. How much time is it actually once the C2 comes up until it zeros out?
