A stingrays natural diet consists mostly of crustaceans, mulluscs, clams, oysters etc.....including shrimps and fish if they can catch them. So any meaty foods from a shell like clam or crab should get it eating.
I just got a yellow spot stingray, my guess it should eat approximately same food as a blue dot. My question is to Pets Aquatic. Have you got your blue dot ray to eat? if yes than what is the favorite food?
Ben.
Hi,
I'm not all that familiar with Stingrays. In fact these are the first we've gotten in. It took about a week to find what they preferred to eat. Finally they started eating clams on a half shell. It seems that they prefer to eat in the dark. We give them the clams in the morning and they ignore it until evening. When we come in the following morning the clams are gone and just the shells are left. Hope this helps you out.
Be well,
Alan
Last evening and this early morning before the main light went on I fed him clam on the half shell andpieces of table shrimp buried in sand. Seems like it showed an interest andspend some time chewing over the offered food. The half shell are empty now. Hopeit worked. Thanks Alan.
