Reef Lighting

Hey Guys.
Newby here,I have been reeding your post for a while now find it to be very interesting.
I have a couple of questions.
I want to upgrade the lighting on my reef tank,it is a 55 gal,i am using a 260 watt compact flourescent at this time.
At this time i want to up grade to metal halide.I was looking at dual 175 watt ,I am going to build my own canopy,it will be about 12" high.
I currently have 2 elegance coral,leathers,torch coral,bubble coraland soom zoos.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OH by the way i live in the sticks of NY,Barryville,NY Sullivan county
Over looking the Deleware river.Any Ideas where i can find a pet shop less then 2 hours away that has Corals.LOL:smash:

Theres a store called Jaws II which is slightly near where you live. Its in the NYC stores listing on this forum. You can also check out Grenwich Aquaria on the border of NY/CT

Sullivan County is about 2 hrs north of Jawz, and anytthing in the lower westchester area.

Border wise how far are you from Fishkill? Poughkeepsie?

welcome to the site.... i have the hellolights.com retrokit in the 250 watt SE and xm 10 k bulbs i love the color and the bulbs give out some awesome par..(depends on ur taste) but hellolights.com retrokits are great and i have no issues whatsoever with the products they sell...
