The clownfish would not be protected by the anemone, but a weak fish can be attacked by ich without others being affected. Was the angel a new arrival?
Both the Angel and the Banggai were not new arrivals. The Banggai was in there for about 2 months and the flame was there for about 1 month. Do you think it was the overnight change in water temperature when everything else stayed the same? I left a fan on in the room overnight it brought the tank down to 79 degrees which is when my heater comes on. The tank had been staying right around 82 or so during these summer months.
Recently my Flame Angel died from Ick and I also lost a Banggai Cardinalfish to a bacteria infection(I believe). They both got sick about 2 days apart with no major change in the tank except a temp drop from 82 to 78-79. Would this have caused this? Also I have a Maroon Clown that lives in a long tipped anemone that is doing just fine. Can a clown fish that lives in an anemone be protected by it from disease? Please help. Thanks
