Hi there,
I have a 29g also and would believe that this would work....a little cramped though.

Just IME with my 29 a fourth fish always threw things off for some reason. There is always a dispute going on and someone gets the brunt of all the abuse. Once the 4th guy is removed all goes back to calm. This has happened to me several times over the past few yrs. It is not always the new addition that gets the a** kickin's either.

But, with that being said. Since the Blenny really isn't a free swimming fish and the others are you may not have this problem. He will more than likely stay within the rock work or caves.

Hope all goes well if you decide to do it. Good luck on the sump, too. I don't have one and sure would like to do it. I am just too much of a coward to run a siphon with me being gone so much with work.

I had a midas in my 55 and he seemed extremely nervous around my pseudochromis, to the point that he eventually went carpet-surfing. I had a bicolor pseudo, however, so the yellow colors may have been the issue.

I heard that the pseudo's can be aggressive sometimes but mine doesn't seem to be anything more then slightly territorial. He stays mostly in the back and on the left side(nice liverock cave that is home for him and three of the four peppermints), the clownfish stay in the front and top portion of the tank. Was thinking maybe another fish would stay lower down....so I guess I'm looking for a lower level fish.

Any other ideas?

OK, I have a 29g tank now, kindof at the quasi-reef stage. :) I currently have a juv. pair of occelaris clowns and a purple psuedochromis. I would like to add one more fish after setting up the 10g sump/refugium (which if anyone has any pointers for I am technilogically inept).

Has anyone had much experience with the Midas Blenny? I'm thinking about adding one, I like their looks and they are suppoesd to be pretty hardy. Thoughts and ideas on this fish and compatibility with the others?

Any other ideas for "just one more"?

Thanks,
Angela <><

A resplendant angel (Centropyge resplendens) hails from the Ascension Island chain, where it is endemic. Expect to pay several hundred, if not close to a thousand dollars for one here in the States. In Singapore, I'd expect prices closer to $2,000.

FYI, they used to be very common a decade+ ago, when a US military base was stationed there. They've since abandoned operations.

Hi,
i used to have a midas blenny in a 55g.It seemed like a happy fella when i had him though it did jumped out the tank twice for reasons unknown. It was ok for about a year then it started not coming out of its retreat to feed and was slowly starving itself to death,it was a real pain to watch.I have no idea what happened cos all the rest of the inhabitants were healthy then.Been thinking of getting another but havent seen it at the LFS since.Hope you have better luck than I did.

Why not try a pygmy angel or another dwarf angel?A resplendent angel might be a nice addition, though personally i have never come across one at any LFS.Cheers..

So what other fish would be a good lower-level fish then? Angels are usually mid to upper level right? That would compete with the clownfish and psuedo space right now.

I want something colorful (but could even be all one color - just not an "ugly fish"), fairly hardy and with personality.

I'm not home enough to watch for a carpet surfing fish.

Any other ideas?
