Ths crab came in on a rock with some mushrooms today and I was wondering what type of crab it might be and if it's ok for my reef. Also if anyone knows anything about the bubble algae that is in the background of this picture That would also be helpful.

Thanks

Some people also consider it a very beautiful type of algea. Though, truly, it can be fast growing sometimes. As with any macro algea harvesting regularly will not only keep it's growth in check but will help remove nutrients from the water.

Not sure about the crab.

My answer would be a porcelin crab too, but thats only goign from the shape and colouraton of the shell. Im allmost 100% sure but there must be millions of different types of crab. I dont think it wil last very long without some sort of stinging host to hide in. I guess they must be quite tasty little besties.
