i've noticed these brown long (about 3 mm) filamentous stalks with fuzzy ends (resemble this vertical -> -* ) starting to take over my daisy polyps. sometimes they grow on a long branch. are they hydroids ? i've also noticed some button polyps have hitchhiked their way onto the liverock that contained the coral as well. is there any way i can save the daisy polyps ?

Sounds more like it could be little feather dusters. Here's a pic of some:

They won't harm anything.

Liu01GT,

I beleive this is what you are refering to.

I have it in my own tanks and it's starting to go a bit haywire now. Been trying to get rid of it for about five months now. Don't know what to do other than throw the rocks and corals out that they are residing on.
