Anyone use either of these products? They claim to raise calcium and act as a carbonate buffer using pure, ground aragonite sand. A recent post recommended Tropic Marine Bio-Calcium, any feedback on this product would be also be appreciated. My goal is to raise the Ca and alk without affecting the pH. I've been having some problems using kalk so am looking for other options.
Thanks.

I used aragamight on occasion instead of kalk. It seemed to keep my calcium o.k. but the alk would drop. I would only use this every once in a while and only for a few days of dosing. I had great success with kalk alone for about a year but have needed to add Seachem Reef Builder to keep my alk up. BTW how are you adding kalk to your tank? How big a system? Maybe we came help you figure out where the problem lies.

I drip the kalk at night at the rate of about 1 drop every 2-3 seconds. In the morning the pH is around 8.4 but continues to climb throughout the day reaching up to 8.65. The alkalinity is very low so I started adding Kent superbuffer dKH to help build up the KH and hopefully stabalize the pH. The tank is a 46 gal bow and has been up and running for 5 months.
