I just noticed today that my maroon clown has a white film on both of his eyes. I don't know why this happened since my water is fine: sal=1.023 nitrate=>10 nitrite=0 amm=0 ph=8.3 temp=79. The only thing that I have added 2 weeks ago is a feather duster. My tank is a reef with many inverts, so is the any advice on how to treat or if I should treat at all? Any ideas what caused this?

Mine used to do that sometimes, it was usually a conciquence of SG fluctuation. Once i had the SG stabalised for a couple of days it would clear.

Make a large water change. How long have you had the clown? Any other symptoms, scratching? It could be brooklynella, secondary to a parasitic infection like gill flukes, or simply a bacterial infection. Probably have to treat in Qtank.

I am really glad if it could have been of some help. When I found that website, I just thought that keeping it in my *favorites* might be usefull to someone one day...

I have had the clown for 2 months and has been fine. The clown is not rubbing on rocks or anything else. Appears to be acting normal but maybe eating a little less than normal. It could be caused by SG like you said because my tank evaporates around 3/4 of a gallon a day. I recently started a new job with long hours so I can not top my tank off until late in the evening. Should I just wait and see if it goes away?
Thanks
