Don't woory give it a few days to adjust. This is normal.
In the meantime give it more water flow to allow it to rid itself of the mucous that is forming on it.

Just picked up new Colt Coral- kinda grayish purple - and it's not doing great ? My tank is a 90 Gal with sufficiant skimming, good levels, no bio-balls ! or sillyness, lots of rock, water flow , and excellent lighting. The rest of my colts, young, and similar soft tissue corals are doing fine. I put the coral in a place with medium lighting and water flow. Help ! Check out my tank at it's doing greatAJ REEF

I would move it away and into a higher flow until it gets used to your tank and than you can more or less put it where you want it(medium flow).

I agree put it in an area of decent flow and good light and try that for a few days. When I firts got mine I had to try a few differnt spots till I found one it liked after that it was all up hill. Just give him time to adjust.

It also could be a problem that the other softies are releasing chemicals into the water to inhibit growth of other softies. I had this happen before with 2 soft corals. They both started out about 5" high, then they both grew to about 18" high, and then one shrunk down to around 2" and dwindled away from there. I attributed that to the other coral releasing stuff into the water (might not've been, but water parameters checked out, and couldn't find any problems, so elimination led me to that conclusion). Try adding some carbon and see what happens. Or, it could just be the adjustment period like everyone else said.
