On Friday morning I placed an order for their 5 frag package for only $125 delivered. I talked to the owner, John, and asked him whether there was any chance he could pack them and ship them the very same day. He assured me he could.

Now, honestly I was it expecting much because let's face it, $125 is not very much at all. Well, not only did I received them by 10:00 AM today but John added two free frags!

The frags are all between 1" and 1.5" and were very well packed. If anyone is looking for acro frags, take a look at www.lonestarcorals.com. No, I am not John in disguise and no, I am not being paid for this! There are so many posts on lousy service or poor quality products, I thought it was high time for a positive entry.

John, if you are reading this.... thank you!

Lonestar also has some excellent colonies now. Being here in San Antonio, I can drop-in almost anytime.
Picked up 4 very nice colonies from John. The price was VERY right. Will get pics up later

John is great!!!!!!!

John just got in the most SPECTACULAR shipment of corals I ever saw. I battled rush hour traffic yesterday and drove nearly crosstown(only one road rage incident) to see these beauties.
I was floored...socks knocked off.....etc....I haven`t seen that much purple since....uh....JEEZ...guess I never saw that much purple before

There are wild as well as captive raised colonies.
Yall better move fast `cause they wont last long.

I got two nice ones and here are two hastily snapped photos last night. As you can see one has polyps out 30 minutes after being tanked and only one light on.....please excuse poor photo but I was excited!!!!!
I was impressed. You will be also

Hmm...

It seems like all of the companies that started out with the mission to carry only captive grown corals only are now also selling wild caught corals too. Why is that?

This isn't meant as a jab at lonestarcorals, I have seen some of John's captive grown corals and they are nice.

Cheers

I assumed they were captive grown because that is what his web page says.
Are they are are they not?
Thanks

Indeed I have never seen so many fantastic Acropora.....
Just in response to the questions about starting out 100% Captive Raised and moving to wild collected colonies and cultured colonies (imported) and salvaged colonies.....our reasons are many but primarily because we need to farm the most exotic stony corals in the world and sell the daughters at prices most people can afford. Since we cannot possibly keep every colony we get in, we decided to sell the ones we won't be farming. It just so happens there is a huge market, we think, for premium wild collected colonies also sold at prices most people can afford. No, we are not too fixated on people's budgets but it is never a bad idea to sell higher quality and rarity at lower prices. It makes good business sense, it is good for our clients, and it affords us an opportunity to select the most outrageous corals to propagate the **** out of

which is of some benefit to natural reefs somewhere. That is the honest answer. There are considerable risks with wild collected stony corals. Given a choice between wild collected and tank cultured, we would always select cultured ones even at much higher prices. Reality is that not everyone feels this way yet
