I have a 55G,20G sump,4x55w PC,Mag 9.5,about 100 lbs.LR,~5 in.DSB,3/4in.SeaSwirl,and am looking for suggestions for upgrading my lighting to include MH.
Want to expand the variety of corals I can keep, but dont want to boil my kinda smaller sized tank. Also I have a canopy that gives about ~7" from the water surface.Anyone in a similiar situation,or could someone give me an idea as to how much heat would be given off by,say,2x175W MH,or 2X250W MH bulbs in a setup of this size?I don't have any first hand knowledge of the the heat produced by MH bulbs, but my PC setup seems to not heat the water up too much, and I would be using these to supplement with actinic,maybe...?
Somebody give me an idea as to an optimal setup!
Thanks, Joey
