On Friday afternoon I had a conversation with Frank Moore who is the US Rep for Hydor in regard to the concerns over the new # 2 & # 3 Koralia's.
Frank was quite forthcoming with information and was pleased to know I would be sharing this information with the MR family.
To date there is no recall of the Koralia pumps that have been previously sold. Hydor, based in Italy, has requested that all distributors & vendors return all unsold # 2 and # 3 units for testing. Frank did not speculate on what the potential issues might be with the units but did relay the importance of Hydor's commitment to the quality of these pumps, hence the request for the return of them for testing.
Any potential issues are strictly limited to the # 2 and # 3 Koralias.
Frank asked me to tell you the following:
If you have a # 2 or # 3 model and would like to return it for replacment, please contact him via email at:
[email protected]
He will respond to you with instructions on how to return your unit.
Since Hydro does not want everyone just mailing in their Korilias, please take the time to contact him for your specific instructions on return & replacement.
They are currently offering to replace any # 2 or # 3 Korilias free of charge. Hydor expects to have the replacements for these in the US by around the last week of March.
Frank may also be reached by phone..he's based in Sacramento, CA..if you would like to discuss this matter, but would prefer email.
Phone (will edit shortly..can't find where I wrote the # down...)
One last thing...I mentioned the MR Spring Frag Swap and Frank will be donating product to our auction on behalf of Hydor!! Cool.
