On a more serious note, how do you like the camera? Is it suitable for non-photographer types? I have been delaying buying a digital camera for a while now, but I don't think I can hold off much longer. But everytime I look into it, all of the models have changed, making it tough to keep on top of it.

I can't believe this is not sumped!
When I was buying, last month, I had to become an expert and now that info is out of date.
I like the camera. I got it because it feels like a slr camera in your hands, and has a viewfinder along with the lcd. 10x optical zoom is nice, and it macros nice. You can do a lot with it. It is easy to use and will do almost everything auto for you, or you can adjust basically everyting.
Downsides, they don't make it anymore (the new version has a telescoping lens and some other features that are different - I did not like it at all), and they don't make an underwater housing for it.

I agree about the camera thing too. I was in the market for a new camcorder and went searching for a while. Read more than I cared to. Know more than I want....and now there are a whole new set of models. LOL
My camcorder though took all the shots on my website. Takes stills to a flash card(I have 8mb size of about a starburst candy but wafer thin.
If you need a camera....and want a camcorder..check into the duel ones. Mine is Mini DV so digital camcorder too. Theres so many sophisticated products out there now its great.
