OK, with all this talk about freshwater dips and keeping fish in hyposalinity tanks for ich treatment, what about the reverse- hypersalinity, has anyone tried that?? Would inverts handle higher salinity for main tank irridication of ich or would you irridicate the inverts? Could this reduce stress on fish than hyposalinity. Any thoughts welcomed, just an idea, not looking for a flame war.

Actually, you have reasonable questions. Hyper as oppossed to hypo salinity. It is not a new idea. The problem is that for inverts they cannot handle large changes in salinity either way. Too much salt makes osmoregulation difficult for fish. IMO, hyper is stressful while hypo is not for most fish. I could go into details why this is true but not this late at night.
