What diameter tube did you put on the outlet? I've found that using a larger diameter tube muffles it quite a bit.

Hi:
I found that placing a 1ft long 3/4" pvc clear hose stuffed over the air inlet quieted this thing down immensely. What type of air inlet did you get w/ the skimmer. I got this black ball valve thats quite large and easily accomadated this hose

I took the air nozzel intake output part to Lowes found a plastic piece or nozzel that fit. And put a 1/4-3/8 id tube???? Forget the size but can't hear it at all.

Get a 45 elbow pvc.One end should fit on your air intake, the other end will or should be a bit smaller.Take the rubber bulb off of a turkey baster and set it aside. Now then, take the plastic part and snip a little bit off of the small end.(will help cut down the noise)Stuff the wider end with a little bit of filter floss. Now fit it on your pvc elbow and add a little bit of carbon in the other end(the opening you just snipped wider).Fit the whole unit on to the air intake of your skimmer.Presto,a quiet bullet with carbon to clean the air as it enters the unit.

No,i'm sorry,I do not have a camera.Basically all you want is a piece of pvc that will fit over the air intake on your skimmer and into the wide end of your turkey baster where the bulb should be.I found that by cutting the narrow end of the plastic, stuffing in some filter floss and adding carbon,it greately reduces the whoosh associated with the skimmer.Seemingly not affecting the air flow very much.Mind you I haven't owned my skimmer that long, but certainly found a way to make it quieter in my living room.
