I have read many differing opinions on this BB lateley about salinity. I am curious to know what other reefers keep thier tanks at. I usually keep mine at 1.023. The only problem that I have not been able to solve in my tank is a cluster of green mushroom anenomes that are constantly shrivled looking. They have been surviving for about a year but do not look as they are supposed to. Could my salinity be too low. All other water paramaters are as they should be. I have heard of other reefers keeping thier systems anywhere from 1.017-1.026. Post your salinity and any experiences you have had good or bad. thanks.

1.0235 is where I try and keep mine. When it was FO it was 1.017 or so. I've never experienced any problems with either of these. I also have a pond which I do not top off as often as I should, and it ranges from 1.021 or so up to 1.029 or so.

If you are posting specific gravity measurements, you need to give the temperature. You can have the same specific gravity at two different temperatures and have two salinities one which may be appropriate and one which may be not.

I keep mine around 1.025 at 80F

I keep my salinity as close to 35 ppt as possible. 1.024 @ 82F.

Mine is at 1.0235 at 81 degrees F right now, but I want to nudge that up a bit.
