skimmers

Thought about getting one. No problems with my tank just trying to improve things but are they really worth the money? Do they help that much? Thanks

You will get mixed opinions, but I as well as most others use them and recommend them.

Unless you have another way of removing dissolved organics you will have to have one to export excess nutrients. There are other means to do this without a skimmer (ATS, Fuge, etc.), but a skimmer is by far the easiest method I have found for constant removal.

The skimmerless crowd should surely have more to add to refute this, but hey it's just my opinion.
