I got a new piece of coral today and was moving my rock with purple mushrooms on it. After the move was over the biggest mushroom started to expunge this white squiggly/noodle stuff from the middle of it. I have moved it before and has never done this. It is starting to suck it back in but I am worried that I have injured it. Has anyone had an experience like this, if so is there something I should do.

Don't worry, this is just a defensive posture....the squiggly stuff supposedly tastes really bad to fish.

It will suck it back inside soon.

I think they are called "mesenterial filaments" or something like that...and yep my mushrooms do the same thing any time I move them around too much!

I'll third what the other posters said...will return to normal quickly and your shrooms will be fine!
