Has anyone ordered from Jefts and got the 9 for $99? If so, what did you order and how big, healthy, and how good did it look? I was thinking about ordering but wanted to hear about your experiences first.

Link is http://www.exoticfish.com. I just got his 9 for 99 deal and was actually pleased with the size of the specimens. Nothing great but better than I expected for $11 apiece. One of the polyps broke from the sharp rock and was out of water, but it survived. One of the mushrooms did not have a lot on it, but that's OK. I figure for that deal, even if two or three did not survive, I would still be ahead for the money.

I got 3 leathers, 3 polyps and 3 mushrooms.

He also has a 'members' special that he emails every week that has some pretty good deals on it. Perculas for $10, Tonga rock for 1.95/lb, etc.

A couple of people have commented that they are not as good at packing as others, and my box arrived in a sagging mess as the polyp bag broke, but otherwise everything seemed packed OK.

I had a very bad experience with this. I ordered 10 9 for 99 packages (thats right 99 corals). About 1/4 of the corals i recieved were dead or looked like they hadn't been removed from the bag in a over a week, 1/4 died within a week, and the other half were pathetically small. Because I ordered so many, he agree'd before hand to drop the price to $89 a pop. After I recieved that crap that he sent me, i tried to get ahold of him to get a refund but was given the run-around for a week. when i finally did get ahold of him, he claimed that since he dropped 10 bucks off a package, i voided any guarentee. I finally had to threaten use of lawyers before he finally agree'd to refund some of my money. I will never order from there again and I advise you not to. Go with someone with a better rep like I believe Etropicals has a 4 for 99 but some of the pics I've seen, the corals are huge and beautiful.

I have had mixed results from this. I don't live in the area but had a chance to see his old facility and it was pretty nice.

The first order everything was great but I did end up losing one of the corals and I don't even remember what it was. This latest order which was placed a couple of months ago had some problems. I split the order with some friends and we added a couple of corals so the total was 11. 3 of the corals immediately didn't make it, they were showing signs of dying from the start and never looked good in the tank. They were a elegence, hammer and green brain. Jeff is more than willing to give you a credit but he needs the coral skeleton shipped back and you are never reimbursed for the initial shipping cost. I guess something like this is the jeopardy of ordering from Mail/Internet and having it shipped to your residence.

Personally I don't think I would order this offer again but it doesn't mean I wouldn't order from Jeff in the future.
