ballast and hqi question

I just purchased the double ended german 250 watt hqi bulb from pet warehouse. It does not have the brand on the box just hit- de 250 watt 10000k. Im running this bulb on a iwasaki ice cap 250 watt mh ballast. It has a flicker to it. My question is is this normal for a break in period of a bulb or should i look into a pfo ballast. I know pfo has a ballast for a 250 watt ushio doulble ended bulb. Does anyone have any exsperiece with these bulbs or ballasts? THANKS FOR ANY HELPFULL REPLIES

If you're using the icecap ballast on that bulb, it needs to be the one that is not tuned for iwasakis. Send the ballast back and they'll change it for you for free.
