I want to replace my single return pump with 2 for additional redundancy in the system. Idea is to replace the existing Little Giant 5.5-MD (1800 gph @ 20') with either 2 GRIs or Iwakis. Current setup is basement sump to pump to chiller to return in series, 3 elbows, which gets me to the ~ 20' head.
Real question is when I re-plumb to 2 pumps should I have both of them T into the chiller - keeping it all in series as I have now - or have one of the new pumps run thru the chiller and the other bypass it, then T them back together into the return line before it runs upstairs?
