anybody keeping BRANCHING GORGONIANS?

please, let me know your sucsess with these amazing looking corals post pics of your tank with your gorgonians if you have them. thanks as i just got mine today, i know there recuirements but, any tips would be appreciated. thanks

I have had good luck with the photosyntheic variety in spite of many "falls" and what many consider low light. I will post pics soon. Mine (I have three varieties of photosynthetic type, and one non-photosynthetic one) have had tissue growth along where the gorgonian is attached to the rock but quite slow growth on the branches (terminally). My non-photosynthetic gorgonian fell behind my liverock upside-down for several months, and when I re-aquascaped months later when I added my DSB, a piece had attached itself to the underside of the liverock and lives still. Feeding it is proving to be challenging.

E, both of you guys. I have been doing tons of research the last two weeks on Gorgs and like most corals it seems the common names cover a couple different Gorgs in most cases. My 180 is going to be dominated by Gorgs and so I am interested in everyones experiences with them.

As I've already told Steve privately, watch out for any algae sticking to the tissues. They have that in common with sponges, they don't compete. If you have a floating strand hang up on it, get it off ASAP. If algae starts to grow on it anywhere, use the toothbrush. That and an occassional feeding will help you keep the photos healthy and growing. You need frequent feeding for non-photos.
