Is my live rock now dead rock?

I moved last summer. Took all my live rock and put it in a 20 gal. rubbermaid container. Put powerhead in to keep salt water moving. Put lid on it. No light. I planning on setting up tank again. Is the rock basically dead now after 8 months without lights? What should I do? Use it as base rock? Or will it come back?

Who knows--it'll at least work as base rock and I'm sure a lot of stuff is dead if you haven't been feeding it. It would be a good idea to get some new live rock to rebuild some of the diversity.

You did makeup for evaporation during that time, right?
