Andy,
I have seen them ran side by side and there wasn't much difference. I would say the standard side looked a little brighter and whiter. Another plus using the standard ballast is you can run other bulbs. But then you all ready knew that.

This isn't true with the 400 watters, only the 250's.

has anyone compared the color of running a 250 watt 6500k bulb on a PFO EYE verses a standard 250 10000k bulb on a standard ballast? How do they compare? Is it worth the cost savings?

Not sure I understand Andy's last point. If you buy a PFO EYE ballast, no matter what wattage, you are locked into the Iwasaki bulbs. If you buy a standard PFO ballast, no matter what wattage, it will run the corresponding wattage Iwasaki bulb, or other MH bulbs.

dragon0121 is right.

btw, what other bulbs does Iwasaki offer besides the 6500K line? Is there a 10000K version yet?

The reason I have this question is because I was weighing the difference in color/quality of the 6500k set-up with the PFO EYE ballast using the Iwasaki bulbs (which is quite a bit less expensive) VERSES the Standard PFO using 10000k bulbs. Also the costs are multipied because i am buying a dual set-up.
