Is it whether Borneman was or wasn't authorized to have those corals?

illegal collection of corals for sale. Seems he was supposed to take small colonies for research and ended up taking bigger ones and proping them for sale.

Still going to research before I actually say what I think.

Well, with the amount all of the big name dudes have contributed not only to he hobby but also into saving reefs, I think its okay if he grabbed some bigger pieces.

Funny how peeps tend to latch on these guys while there is mass poaching etc going on whith no one saying anything

Didn't read all the material. Is it possible his thinking was to aqua culture/protect the corals? I.E. spread them to the hobby for better
survival chances?
I don't know this guy, have heard of him for sure... I get the sense he
has some good in him

Talk about a "tempest in a teapot", this is hardly fair to leap to judgment without hearing the other side of the story. Why the witch hunt? How many coral and fish do we kill each year in our tanks? How many more are killed in collection and transport for our hobby? Let thee who is without sin cast the first stone, or is that get stoned?? :splitspin There seem to be a lot of Borneman haters, either its jealousy or he is the A-Rod of corals.....

You should read the thread on reefs.org. I think a lot of different "sides" of the story have been pounded out on that 34 page thread. In the last few pages, at least one person actually from project comments.
