I am about to order some of these online, but found that there a tons of types, prices, sizes, and kinds. Which have you found to be the best size and cost for these guys? I have a 125 gal tank. I will clean the entire front panel and most of the sides too.

Thanks,
Alberto

Floating magnets are the way go! You can go around corners with them and if they fall....they won't kill anything because they float to the surface...instead of crushing your clam!

Can any of these products scape coralline algae that may form on the from & side glass for a 180G All Glass ( 5/8 inch thick). Preferably a floater. I have a mag float & Need something stronger.

Either brand will easily do that job IF you have the correct size.

The Great Whites clean the 1.1" thick glass on my 1000, including coraline if it's not too bad. The thing with all of the magnet cleaners is you have to use them regularly. I use mine 1-2 times a week and have no problems keeping the glass clean for the past 4-5 months. I have never cleaned the glass with anything but these magnets and my glass is crystal clear.

dimaggio, Personally I would get a acylic scrub pad , and good razor scraper, and do the job by hand. I know it is a little more work, but in the long run you will have a more scracth free glass. Those magnets pic up all sorts of debree, and with scratch the fire out of you tank. You will not even relize it untill you get a lot of scratches. Then it is to late. Just my .02 cents. :D

-Ditto to what John said about the correct size. On the front glass of my tank the bottom 1" has a tendency to form coralline due to me not cleaning all the way to the sand bed. Once the coralline has had a chance to form (rather heavy) the Magnavore IV will not remove it but a larger model of Magnavore might. I only clean my front glass and clean this about 2 times/week.

-Louey, I can assure you that if you ever use a Magnavore or equivalent strength magnet, you will not have an issue with it falling off.
