I just found a new LFS near my house. ( about 10 min) This new info is great because i was driveing like 45 in to the others. Anyway they sell premixed water.( made with RO) For 60 cents a gallon. How does that compair with anyone else that buys it from their LFS. Has anyone figured out what it costs them to make it themself?

.60 is not bad at all. In Northern VA premixed salt water made with RO is at least .90. per gallon.

i have a question regarding pre-mixed salt water. does this pose any problems for anyone? i ask because what if the range in salinity between it and what your tank is varies greatly? wouldn't you end up having to add more salt or dilute as needed to 'match' your tank? it seems it would just make more sense to mix your own...unless there's something i'm missing.

Coralshrimp,

you are right, you may have to make an adjustment especially if you are making a large water change or if you have a small tank.

Getting water from an LFS is convenient if your tap water is too hard, and therefore quickly clog up your filter, or if you are simply do not have an RO/DI unit.
