sorry for my ignorance.. I am in process of moving corals from my nano to my new 110 reef. I have a white sinalaria that I got about a year ago which was attached to a small branch which i slid between 2 rocks. It now has attached partially to these rocks and I would like to move into my new tank without rocks it has attached too. n How would i go about removing/cutting it off given rock without severely damaging it? thx

Soft corals are extremely easy to frag. Just take a sharp, clean pair of scissors to it and perform a clean cut, preferably one single straight cut. You can cut just about anywhere. Remove the cutting from the tank and mount it into your new tank. This can be done either via super glue gel, threading some monofilament line through the base and bundling it to rocks, or simply wedging the coral into a nice snug hole in the rocks. Reduced current for the next week will help insure it doesn't get blown about.

I've found that Sinularias can take quit a bit of abuse from cutting and still pull through just fine.
