I just got a remora pro with the mag 3 upgrade. Seeing as the supplied connector hose is rather short, the pump sits high in the tank and is rather unsightly. Have any of you replaced thuis with a longer hose and placed the tank at or near the bottom of the tank? I'd like to conceal it somehow. Also, is using the pre-filter advisable? I used to have them on all my PH's but removed them as it was a pain cleaning them. I'm not sure how powerful the mag 3 is and what sort of critters it could suck up. The smallest fish I have is six-line wrasse, plus a couple cleaner shrimp. Thanks in advance for any advice/tips. BTW, the tank is a 56 gallon and is 27 inches deep.

You'll lose some flow by placing the pump lower in the tank. Instead, go buy the surface skimmer/bubble reducer box. It will hide the pump and be covered in coralline in no time. It will most importantly feed the skimmer with surface water, which will have the most goodies for the skimmer to remove. HTH

Thanks. This was suggested by someone else ,but then another posted that this box was quite large and obtrusive as well. I'll look into it as an option however as looking at that pump detracts from the appearance. Any advice on using the sponge pre-filter?

Well, the box is obtrusive as hell untill it has some healthy coralline growth on it, it has to be big enough to accomodate the mag. If you really really wanted to you could use the pre-filter, assuming that you want mechanical filtration which many of us advise against. I say skip the pre-filter and let the detritus float around and get processed naturally. Plus the pre-filter's on mags are pretty huge relatively speaking. HTH
