Stand construction

Just wondered if people with self made stands and below tank sumps could answer the following

-do you put a back on your stand or leave for ventillation?
-do you treat wood on inside to ward off condensation?
-do you suffer much condensation inside cabinet ?
-do you use any type of water proof connectors if above is yes?

I hope to make stand in next couple of months for 4Ft tank so if anyone had any good designs I would be grateful for the input

1. I leave the back open.
2. Just paint the inside of the stand to protect the wood from moisture.
3. Not if you have plenty of air circulation.
