I have recently purchased several corals sold as "Scolymia" from various different vendors. In the past, I have gotten one which looks like the scolymia in the text books (relatively dense, minimally expanding polyp). The recent ones have all been very colorful, but do not look like the scolymia described in Veron's book (as well as various other books) They do look exactly like what Sprung labels C. deshayesiana. Is this name unique to Sprung or has the coral been named since the publication of Veron's book? Which do I have, C. deshayesiana or Scolymia?
