obviously ive started off with an elbow in the back of my head for what ive been doing, i PLAN to toss the UGF's and try and get my sump up and running....... i had the 2 canister filters running water to the sump but 1 is more powerfull and it kept making it overflow.... im getting a regulator tap put on the powerfull one which will be empty and run my future skimmer .... the other canister will just have carbon. i am going to get another 2 38 watt lights to go with the 5 38 watt lights that i have running already. I might also put in a DSB if my parents will let me ( they dont like me changing things ...even if they fail) the sump will have a refugeum in it to. any other ideas would be appreciated and i also need some australian mail order places so i can by some stuff. so if u know of any plz tell me!
thanx a million!

just a precautionary question, how does the water get from the tank to the sump? if you are using a canister filter, this is not good.

I'll expand on what beerbaron said... don't try to use two pumps of any sort to move water down and up. It will not work. You need an overflow that allows water to fall back to the sump based on what is entering the main tank (you can certainly have 2 inputs to the main tank, so long as the overflow can keep up). You will never get a balance between 2 pumps as they shift over time as well.

As for places to order from, have you gotten on the ozzie boards?

Canister filters don't usually provide the pressure or GPH needed to operate a skimmer. What skimmer design did you have in mind that a canister filter might work with?
