Ballpark price on custom stand and canopy?

What should I expect to pay for a nice 36" tall stand for a 5'x2' tank and a 12" canopy for same? I got a quote of $1100 from a LFS that says this is only 10% over cost.

Righty, I know that one of the nice Oceanic stands and canopy are right around that $1100 LFS cost. If this is the one they are talking about then I would say this is a good deal.

SPC, what exact Oceanic stand/canopy are you thinking of? I assumnig your talking aboutthier current package which I am getting verysoon (on-order). If you are talking about thier newest exclusive Signature Sreies line, i can tell you I got a quote of the Sig line which looks assume from website at 2800.00+ for a 110RR vs. about 650.00 for the standard package in cherry.
I looked a alot of custom cabinet shops around here in Nor Cal and 1000.00 is cheap for the setup your looking at.

The final price would depend on whay you want. doors and hardware, lumber choice, finish choice, ect.
If you have tools, and the time, ou could build it for under $500.

Thanks guys. I jsut ordered it. $1100 for a 36" tall stand w/ 2 doors and 12" canopy with 2 doors in front, oak with a cherry stain, in what they call traditional style (it has some nice molding on the top of the canopy and the bottom of the stand).
