Expierences with Geismann Lichttecknik System 260

I'm considering purchasing one for my tank, and was wondering if anyone out there has or had one of them, and their general feeling on them? Is it worth the price???

If you have the money to spend I think they are well worth it. If you are on a budget you will be fine with the Aquaspace Lighting (I think I have the name right:?). I have the 260 without the built-in computer. I deleted from my order since I already had a controller. I thought they both looked almost alike until I saw the Aquaspace at MACNA. It is nice but not even in the ballpark with the Giesemann as far as looks. The paint job on the Giesemann is equal to a nice vehicle and the unit is much more solid. As far as the lighting itself I would guess they are basically equal.

Another + for the geissman is they use tridonic ballasts which run the 10k bulbs at the proper voltage.

What kind of ballast does the spacesaver use? Does it run the wrong voltage?

We try to carry it as well - http://www.inlandreef.net/giesmethalfi.html.

The reason I say try is because they don't currently have a US distributor. We're getting them from a Canadian distributor in Quebec and it is not the most reliable source.

In addition, we get charged import duty twice (Germany to Canada and then Canada to US) so the price is significantly more than an equivalent AquaMedic.
