Texman,
There was a post a while back that said HD used the same SKU for a differnt sand as well. Be careful when you have it ordered, so you don't end up paying for the wrong thing.

Also, check out this thread

You might just want to call them and have a palate delivered!

I am not sure if you ever found your Southdown but I have a pallet coming this week. I bought extra because it was cheaper. I think I will have around a 1000 lbs extra. It cost 15 per 40 lb bag. If you are interested email me: [email protected]. I live in Alexandria LA. but I am in DFW every couple of weeks and would bring it there...

You may want to also try some of the smaller hardware stores or nurseries in your area to see if they carry Yardright Playsand, it is mentioned in the thread that Bingo provided. It is also by Southdown, but packaged differently (40lb vs 50lb HD bag) and is usually about a dollar more a bag, but still cheaper than the LFS version. I was able to find it at small hardware store about an hour or so away from me, a place where the HD's don't carry it. Just a thought.

Thanks for all the replies! After my local HD refused to order any, I called Southdown and they told me that they do not know of anyone that carries their product anywhere west of the Mississippi, nor would they ship me any less that a truckload. I ordered some form pureargonite.com. I will let you know how it turns out.
