Just boought a Perfecto/Marineland 180g w/ Jetstream overflows. I have it up and running but this is the first tank I've ever had to Plumb. Things seem to be working alright -although things are a little touchy. The slightest touch of a valve on the return lines throws everything out of whack and it takes forever to get back to normal.

My question is, if I have 1" bulkheads on the drains should/can I reduce down to 3/4"?

I'm using an Amiracle Wet/Dry with a MagDrive 2400 for the return. The return lines are 3/4" up to the 1" bulkhead.

Would reducing the drain make it drain slower or do the opposite?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Reducing the drain will generally restrict the flow. I wouldn't consider doing that myself; it's just inviting disaster if one gets blocked for some reason.
