when i purchased my pair of emerold crabs the guy at the lfs mentioned that they eat coriline,but not much.this morning i woke to find one munching on some coriline,quite proficiantly I might add.I am one of those people that fight for coriline coverage ,it dosent come real eaisy in my tanks ,Am I about to get wiped out by these two emerold crabs or what,??? any one here care to give there experiance.

I have four and they do eat the coraline, but I still have a total purple covering. (180 gal) I wouldn't think that they would dent it too badly.

There is an old saying...go with what you know. Those crabs will eat coralline algae, you are having difficulty getting the algae...why ask for trouble. There are other scavengers that will not hurt your coralline. Once you have strong encrusting, get some more.
