I'm drilling a 2 3/8" (1 1/2 bulkhead) in the sides of my overflows. These two holes will be the intake for my AmpMaster 3000 closed loop. My question is where do I get a 2 3/8" hole drill bit? I have smaller ones, but 2 3/8" is kind of big. I searched Home Depots website real quick and came up empty...Would they have them if I went into the store?

Home Depot will most likly have them if you go to the store. There web site sucks IMO. I would make some calls. That is the best way. Get a live body to talk to. Good luck.

The thing you are looking for is usually called a "hole saw." They come in various sizes. Depending on the one you get, you may need an "arbor" with it to attach to the drill. Just ask your salesperson.

I used a Rotozip with a carbide tile bit and a hole cutting attachment. To make a 2 3/8" hole in my 90 gal.
The bit was about 6 dollars and the hole cutting device was around 8.
This is if you have a Rotozip allready.

It went extremly easy, of course I made sure to have alot of water flowing on it but it took less than 5 minutes.
There was no chipping or galling at all and I didn't even break the bit.
It kindof surprised me how eay it was.

I just gave up looking for the 2 3/8 bit. You can see some pictures of what I ended up doing on my site from the link in my signature.

Next time I will make sure I have the tank drilled before I buy it.
