I opened my flush valve on my RO/DI the other day and completely forgot that it was open. Two days later, my fiance called me at work to tell me that my water purifier thingy is making a weird noise. I told her to go down and look at it and I could hear a kind of srceaching noise as she got close to it. I had her shut it off and when I got home I turned it back on and every thing seems fine. The water is still reading 0 on my tds meter. Did I do any harm to it by leaving the flush valve open for two days?

TIA,

I can't see why you would have caused any damage by doing so. The flush valve is designed to clean your RO membrane so it should not damage it in any way. However, keep an eye on your TDS meter and see what happens. I think you should be fine. :)

No you only would do a good thing. Basically it got a good cleaning. Your waste water/good water should read between 4:1 to 6:1. You just ran it even higher. No damage just more waste water.
